Frequently asked questions

How long is the dog walk?

The walk is usually 25 or 50 minutes, but can be tailored to suit your dog’s needs. For example, if your dog does not need a 50 minute walk, he can have a shorter walk and I can spend the rest of the time with him at home before I leave.

Where do you walk my dog?

Your dog will be walked in an area local to your home. The full time allocated for the walk will then be spent exercising rather than your dog being transported by car.

What area does York Walkies cover?

Primarily the west of York and local villages including Poppleton, Copmanthorpe, Bishopthorpe, Bilborough and Askham Richard, but please contact me to discuss.

Can you feed my dog?

If you like I can feed your dog before I leave or can visit just to give him fresh food and water. I would expect you to provide your dog’s meal.

Can you offer one-to-one walks?

Yes. Unlike some dog walking businesses, all walks undertaken are on a one to one basis so you can be sure of an individual service for your dog, and my full attention during the walk.

When can you help?

I aim to be flexible so please contact me to discuss your dog walking and pet visiting requirements including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Do I have to commit to a dog walk every day or can you be flexible?

Some people only want their dogs walked when they are on holiday or if they are going to be late home from work or are working certain shifts. I understand this and can be flexible to meet your needs so that on those days when you can't be around for your dog, I can.
